SMASH AND GRAB: At least $80K worth of high-end clothing stolen from Memphis store

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis authorities on the lookout for thieves who broke into a Whitehaven clothing boutique early Friday morning. Police said the smash-and-grab-style burglary happened around 3:30 a.m. at Omar Jeans Sports & Luxury Goods located on Elvis Presley Boulevard.

Surveillance footage shows three, daring attempts by the driver of a white pickup truck, determined to break through the front entrance of the store location. The truck finally made it inside.

Five suspects followed, running into the gaping hole, inside the storefront.

Thieves took off with thousands of dollars worth of high-end gear. The owner, who chooses to stay anonymous, told FOX13 that he calculated at least $80,000 worth of stolen goods, but said a final estimate will be much more than that.

The most expensive item stolen, a $4,000 coat.

The video shows five men wearing hoodies and masks entering and exiting the building multiple times before police arrived. The truck used in the heist is believed to be stolen.

No suspects are in custody.

The owner told FOX13 it could take weeks to reopen the store, while contractors await orders for items needed to complete repairs amid a COVID shipment crisis. Meantime, anyone with info on this brazen break-in is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
