Son charged after shooting father following argument, fleeing from police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — UPDATE: A man is facing charges after police say he shot his own father in the face.

Tevin Willingham is charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempted-Second Degree Murder, Intentionally Evading Arrest in an Auto, and Reckless Driving.

According to a police report, Willingham was arguing with his father when they began to fight. That’s when Willingham shot his father in the face.

According to the affidavit, shortly thereafter, Willingham took police on a short chase before crashing outside of an Olive Garden on Poplar Avenue.

Willingham’s father is in critical condition at Regional One Hospital.

Memphis Police are questioning one person after a shooting in Hickory Hill.

Officers responded to the 3400 block of Emerald Street in Hickory Hill for a shooting just after 2 p.m. Monday.

One man was found shot and was taken to Regional One in critical condition, police said.

Police said they have one person that is being questioned in relation to this shooting after they led police on a pursuit.

According to officials, the alleged suspect crashed their car outside a Memphis Olive Garden in the 5600 block of Poplar Avenue.
