MEMPHIS — High school seniors across the country have missed out on milestone events because of COVID-19. One of those events was prom. It’s an exciting moment for seniors.
From getting your hair and makeup done to find the right dress, prom is a complete experience.
To help seniors who missed their prom or didn’t have a great experience at theirs, St. Jude is teaming up with YouTuber and Radio Host Zach Sang to host Prom at Home.
“We all could use a reason to escape and this is a good reason,” Sang told FOX13. The event will be live streaming on YouTube and Twitter.
Participants will see a QR code on their screen that they can scan with their phones.
The code will be connected to Venmo, so they can donate however much they feel. There is a star-studded lineup of celebrities participating. Country singer Kane Brown, 8-time Grammy winner Finneas O’Connell, AJR, and more will be participating.
Sang hopes it becomes a memorable moment for participants while also helping children at St. Jude beat cancer. “Prom is supposed to be your celebration period of everything you’ve done over the last four years.”
