Suspect wanted for firing shots into business after failed theft, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of firing shots into a business after he attempted to take some cigars without paying for them.

It happened just after 5:30 Friday evening at the Cash Express in the 3200 block of Ridgeway Road.

According to police, the victim said a man entered the business and asked for some cigars then tried t leave without paying for them.

The clerk locked the doors so the man couldn’t leave.

The man returned the cigars and left the business, but police said as he was walking to his vehicle, he turned and fired multiple shots into the business.

The male was described as approximately 5′9 or 5′10, with a light complexion, black hair, a low fade, and a thin build.

He was wearing a green hoodie and gray sweatpants.

The suspect’s vehicle is a Gray/Silver Nissan Maxima or Altima.
