MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Taco Bell fans around the world can score a free taco this Tuesday - thanks to the moon.
According to a release from the company, the moon is known for powerful influences, from controlling the earth’s tides to affecting a person’s cravings.
Taco Bell is launching its first-ever global campaign by using the moon as a giant billboard the whole world can see.
On May 4, the moon is set to resemble a taco - a new lunar phase the company is affectionately calling the Taco Moon.
When the Taco Moon appears fans in the U.S. can score a free Crunchy Taco between 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. in-store, or all day through the app and online.
According to Taco Bell, over 20 markets are celebrating the Taco Moon, including the United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Puerto Rico.
“Taco Bell has been an established brand in the U.S. for nearly 60 years and we are thrilled by the accelerating fandom we’re seeing globally,” said President of Taco Bell, International, Julie Felss Masino. “As we’re opening more and more restaurants internationally, we know the May 4 moon will take us to new ‘heights’ as we introduce ourselves to new future fans in a delicious way.”
Fans who miss the free taco on Tuesday can get additional offers all day May 4 and 5, the company said.
