MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have identified a woman shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting in Memphis.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday near a McDonald’s on S. Third Street.
Memphis police attempted to pull over a stolen car out of Olive Branch, Miss., MPD said.
The woman refused to stop and rammed a squad car.
MPD said an officer opened fire, killing the woman.
She has been identified as Kayla Lucas, 25.

A man who was in the car was detained at the scene.
This officer-involved shooting is the fourth in Memphis/Shelby County in 2021.
