Ten injured in hazmat incident at Memphis brewery, officials say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ten people were injured in a hazmat incident at a Memphis brewery Tuesday, officials with the Memphis Fire Department said.

MFD responded to a call at 5151 Raines Road around 10:30 a.m.

That’s the address of Blues City Brewery’s main plant in the city.

Ten people were taken to local hospitals, one person with critical injuries and nine others with non-critical injuries, according to MFD.

According to preliminary information, two disinfectants were mixed together and created a hazardous vapor when inhaled, fire officials said.

About 350 employees were evacuated during the incident.

MFD said the brewery was back to normal operations as of 1:30 p.m.
