Tennessee man accused of kidnapping two Sam’s Club employees at gunpoint, officials say

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee authorities have arrested a man accused of kidnapping two people at gunpoint from a Sam’s Club parking lot.

According to a release from the Cookeville Police Department, two Sam’s Club employees were standing in the parking lot around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.

A man, later identified as Tyler Justin Hall, 29, approached them and displayed a pistol.

According to the release, Hall ordered the pair into the female victim’s car.

He then ordered the male to drive toward White County.

The male was able to wrestle the gun away from Hall near a Walmart in White County, the release said.

Hall then ran away.

The next evening, the Smithville Police Department notified Cookeville police that Hall had been apprehended for outstanding warrants.

He had been found at a Dollar General in Smithville, the release said.

He was taken to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

No information on any specific charges he faces was released.
