Thousands of MLGW customers without power as strong storms threaten the Mid-South

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Thousands of MLGW customers are without power as severe storms ramp up across the Mid-South.

UPDATE 5:45 P.M., MAY 22:

Over 1,500 customers are still without power.

There are 107 outages across Memphis, according to MLGW.

UPDATE 1:10 P.M., MAY 22:

Over 2,000 customers are still without power.

Strong storms knocked out power to thousands late Saturday night and Sunday morning as 7,500 customers lost power at one point.

As of 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, 2,046 of those customers were still without power, affected by 135 outages across Memphis, according to MLGW.

UPDATE 12:00 P.M., MAY 22:

Over 2,100 customers are still without power after strong storms blew through the Mid-South Saturday night and Sunday morning.

According to MLGW, 2,128 homes and businesses were still without power around noon on Sunday, impacted by 148 outages across the city.

UPDATE 10:10 A.M., MAY 22:

Over 2,000 customers are still without power, according to MLGW.

The power company reports that, as of 10:10 a.m., 2,298 customers are still without power, affected by 139 outages across the city.

UPDATE 6:30 A.M., MAY 22:

Fewer than 4,000 people remain without power Sunday morning, according to the MLGW outage map.

As of 6:30 a.m., 3,893 people were still without power, affected by 123 outages across the city, MLGW reported.

10 PM:

As of 10 PM Saturday, 7,500 customers are without power.

The company is reporting 109 outages.

9 PM:

As of 9 PM Saturday, 4,100 customers are without power.

The largest outage is concentrated in the Memphis downtown area, according to MLGW’s outage map.
