MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police arrested and a man and woman in connection with a fatal shooting that left one man dead.
The shooting happened July 3 just after 11 p.m. in the 3600 block of American Way at the American Best Value Inn, police said.
The victim, identified as 29-year-old Rodrecus Partee, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
According to an affidavit, video surveillance showed a woman meet the victim in the hotel parking lot.
As they began to walk toward the hotel, another man approached from behind and shot the victim multiple times in the back, records show.
The woman ran to the east side of the building.
The gunman and another man approached the victim and began going through his pockets, records show.
The two men then left on foot as the woman ran after them.
Jamal Medlock, 21, and Jer’Miracle Walton, 21, face charges in connection with Partee’s murder.
According to the affidavit, Medlock admitted to shooting Partee then leaving the scene.
Medlock is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery, police said.
Walton is charged with facilitation of first-degree murder.
Walton admitted to planning the robbery and killing of Partee, records show. She told police she had driven the two men to the scene and planned to pick them up after.
According to a release from the US Marshals Task Force, another woman had a warrant out for her arrest in connection to this homicide.
Gladdaysha Wilson was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder. She was found near the 2900 block of Brunswick Road.
