3 injured after officers in pursuit of carjacked vehicle hit by citizen, police say

WATCH: 3 injured in officer-involved crash in South Memphis, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A two car-crash involving police officers sent three to the hospital, according to MPD.

According to MPD, two officers were taken to Regional One in non-critical and one male citizen was originally said to be in critical condition, but is now listed as non-critical.

The officers were notified that a carjacked silver Dodge Charger was in the area, located that car and were in pursuit at the time of the crash, according to MPD.

The carjacked vehicle was able to evade officers after the crash, MPD said.

MPD said the citizen that crashed into the officers is not expected to be charged.

The accident happened at East Belz Blvd and Florida Street.

No arrests have been made at this time.

This investigation is still ongoing.
