MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Early voting kicks off across Tennessee tomorrow.
One voter looked forward to casting her ballot.
“The earlier the better,” said Caroline Fourmey, Tenn. voter.
The Shelby County Election Commission is preparing for a large voter turn out this general election.
“For early voting, you can vote at any precinct. There are 26 countywide. You only need to bring a photo ID,” said Linda Phillps, Shelby County Election Administrator.
Phillips said voters should be prepared to wait, but she does not believe people will be standing in long lines for hours like in Georgia.
“We are staffed with as many people as we have, all the equipment out as we have. I would say be patient. This isn’t fast food,” said Phillips.
There are also several safety measures in place to keep people safe. Masks are recommended and social distancing will be enforced.
“We will do everything we can to keep voters safe,” said Phillips.
