Triple-A expects an increase in Fourth of July travel

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Triple-A says more than 47 million Americans will travel this July 4th weekend.

That is the second-highest number ever for a July 4th weekend and up more than 40 percent over last year’s holiday weekend.

Here are a few things to be aware of if you are heading out of town this weekend.

TDOT tells FOX13 that there could be delays on the I-55 bridge as people leave town on Friday and come back on Sunday and Monday because of the increase in traffic on the I-55 bridge. People need to plan for that.

Also, MHP said they plan to have every trooper they have on the roadway through the holiday weekend.
