Truck driver indicted in crash that killed 5-year-old girl

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A truck driver is indicted after a crash left a 5-year-old girl dead.

The crash happened back in June 2020 on I-240 near I-55.

According to the Shelby County DA’s Office, Herandus Washington, 27-years-old, hit the back of a Toyota SUV when he was changing lanes.

The crash forced the Toyota into a Nissan and ended up off of the road.

The child’s 4-year-old brother, father and the driver of the Nissan survived the crash.

Washington was indicted on reckless vehicular homicide charges.
