Man charged with murder after double shooting, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead and a man is behind bars after a shooting inside a home in the Cherokee neighborhood just after midnight Sunday.

Andre Jones, 20, is charged with two counts of First Degree Murder and Employing a Firearm with Intent to Commit a Felony.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of Amarillo Street.

The caller told police he came home and found the two people inside the house had been shot.

Police said both of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither victims have been identified.
