Two men arrested for assault, robbery in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police have arrested two men in connection with an aggravated assault and robbey that happened Tuesday.

The incident happened in the 6200 block of Kirby Downs.

A victim was inside the home while one of the suspects, Rodrick Moore, was asleep inside a car in the driveway.

Moore became upset because the victim’s brother took some items from the car, according to the affidavit.

Moore called another suspect, Mario Westbrook, to the home.

Westbrook arrived with an assault rifle, according to the affidavit.

Moore demanded cash from the victim and took approximately $800 from his pockets.

Westbrook then asked to take the victim’s TV.

Moore and Westbrook then found the victim’s brother and forced him back to the home at gunpoint.

The victim’s brother was assaulted by the two suspects.

The victim picked up the assault rifle and began shooting to stop the attack on his brother.

Moore’s car was riddled with bullets, according to the affidavit.

Both suspects ran but later returned and were taken into custody.

The victim identified the suspects through a photo lineup.

Both Moore and Westbrook were charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery and Employment of a Firearm with Intent to Commit a Felony.
