Two shot, one dead after shooting near Memphis interstate, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead after gunfire near a Memphis interstate, according to police.

Memphis Police said two people were shot around 5 p.m. at Prescott and Cherokee, an area close to the I-240 and Lamar exit-ramp.

One of those people died at the scene of the shooting, according to police. The other person was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition.

According to police, the shooter is a Black male with a blond mohawk.

Police urged anyone with information about this shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

Any information that leads to an arrest, in this case, could be worth up to $2,000.
