Veterans Day events in the Mid-South, some schools closed

MID-SOUTH — FOX13 is dedicated to honoring all our Veterans, especially the ones in the Mid-South.

We have compiled a list of information for this Veterans Day.


2021 Veterans Day Ceremony will be Nov. 11 at 10:00 a.m. in A. Keith McDonald Pavilion located by Veterans Park. Seating is limited but you are welcome to bring your own chairs.

COVID mandates in Shelby County at the time of this event will be followed.


The Hernando Veteran’s Parade will be held on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Commerce Street and around the town square.

The parade route starts on Commerce at the railroad tracks. The route goes west on Commerce, around the square, then east on Center Street to the staging area.


Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1113 will be holding a Celebration and Car Show on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2146 Ball Road.

Bring your lawn chairs.


Horseshoe Tunica will observe Veterans Day and honor the service of veterans and active-duty military personnel by offering a $20 dining credit at JB’s Café from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and a complimentary 12 oz. coffee at Starbucks from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Horseshoe Tunica.

Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy their offerings when they show their military ID. Additionally, everyone is invited to a special Veterans Appreciation Ceremony in the Horseshoe Tunica hotel lobby at 11 a.m. Nov. 11.


The city of Blytheville is holding a Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11 down Main Street at 4 p.m.
