HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — A drive-by wake is planned for Officer Travis Wallace, the Helena-West Helena police officer shot and killed in the line of duty.

There will be two sections for the wake which will be a drive-by wake at the Helena-West Helena Police Department on Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Police Chief James Smith told FOX13.

Officer Wallace will be in the front entrance where vehicles can drive up and pay their respect.

A private wake for the family will be held at Kincaid Funeral from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Afterward, fellow officers will participate in a sea of blue.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at CAD Polk Stadium at Central High School It will conclude at Sunset Cemetery on US HWY 49.

Officer Wallace, 41, was shot during a gun battle outside the Delta Inn on U.S. Highway 49 around 6:11 p.m. Thursday, November 12, according to police.

Police arrested 29-year-old Latarius Howard and 24-year-old Bruce Hillie in Shaw, Mississippi in connection with the murder.

Bruce Hillie, 24, was also arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension, according to police.

Officer Wallace is remembered as a gentle soul who gave back to the community he loved and paid the ultimate sacrifice.
