Woman arrested for allegedly beating up kids, attempting to run them over at local KFC

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police arrested a woman who allegedly beat up two children and attempted to run them over with her car at a local KFC.

The incident happened the night of March 5, 2020 at a Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue.

According to an affidavit, a woman told police her children were moving items from the passenger area to the trunk when they were confronted by Tierany Crawford, 31.

An argument began and Crawford allegedly punched one of the children, a 13-year-old girl, in the chest.

According to the affidavit, Crawford grabbed another child, a 14-year-old girl, and pulled her to the ground.

Crawford fought with the two teens before two people separated them.

Crawford got into a car that was parked nearby and continued arguing.

She hit another car before attempting to run over the kids, the affidavit said.

She then rammed a parked vehicle with a 2-year-old toddler inside.

Crawford hit one of the victims in the side with her car, causing the victim to twist her ankle.

Crawford allegedly continued to try to hit the children, and they ran.

According to the affidavit, she fled the scene in a silver Chevy Malibu.

Two days later, Crawford was positively identified as the person responsible for the assault.

She is charged with five counts of aggravated assault.
