Man arrested in woman’s stabbing death in northwest Shelby County, officials say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested in connection with a woman’s stabbing death Wednesday night in northwest Shelby County.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, detectives responded to an incident in the 4000 block of Shelby Road shortly before 7 p.m.

The victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition, but she was later pronounced dead.

One person was detained, SCSO said.

Later, SCSO announced Jeremiah Carlisle, 41, was charged in connection with the woman’s death.

Carlisle is charged with First-Degree Murder.

SCSO identified the victim as Laura Christie, 41.

The homicide investigation is ongoing.
