Woman stabs first cousin after argument, police say

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman is behind bars after she stabbed her first cousin after an argument, police said.

Toni Rodgers, 50, is charged with aggravated assault for stabbing her first cousin, whom which she is in a sexual relationship with , according to the affidavit.

The incident occurred on Sunday in the 300 block of Stewart where they both lived.

Officers spoke with the victim, who said he was outside of a home when an argument began. Rodgers then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, police said.

The victim went into the house to clean his wound when Rodgers attacked him again with the knife, according to police.

Rodgers was arrested.

A bloody knife was found at the home.

She is due in court on Thursday and her bond was set at $50,000.
