Equifax promised thousands of customers a payout after a massive data breach in 2017, which exposed information including 147 million people’s social security numbers, according to Forbes.
They have promised a payout of various amounts, capping at $20,00 for the customers affected.
The deadline to file your claim and apply for your part of the $20,000 is Jan. 22.
It was announced in July that there would be a payout.
To find out if you are eligible for the payout, use the tool set up be Equifax, but they suggest opting for free credit monitoring for 10 years.
If you can prove you already have credit monitoring, then your share in the claim could be $125 to $20,000.
