Mother seeking justice after daughter raped, thrown in ditch

A Memphis mother is seeking justice after her 11-year-old daughter was raped.

The man police say is responsible is 20-year-old Larry Ward, he was scheduled to be in court this morning.

"Didn't you see the innocence in her face, can you tell she was still a baby," the mother said.

The mother told FOX13 Monday morning was only her daughter’s second time  had ever walked to Geeter Middle School

The mother says she could only think of one thing when she received the news her child had been in danger.

"I'm about to go to jail," the mother said.

Wednesday morning a judge continued Ward’s arraignment citing the judge wanted to Ward in the courtroom.

The mother says her attention is only set on one task.

"That's all I want to see right now is justice."

The Mother tells FOX13 her daughter will more than likely begin home schooling in the coming weeks.

Larry Ward is scheduled to be in a courtroom Thursday in front of a judge.

Ward remains in jail on a $50,000.00 dollar bond.
