• 3 to be inducted into Tennessee sports writers hall of fame

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Sports Writers Association is inducting three members into its hall of fame in July.

    Tommy Bryan began covering sports for the Lebanon Democrat in 1977, then switched to news in 1979. He owned, ran and contributed to The Wilson World newspaper in 1981 through 2003. He's worked the past six years with Main Street Sports newspapers.

    Teresa Walker started at The Associated Press in 1989 in Nashville, where she covers pro and college sports. She has covered five Olympics, three Super Bowls, the 2017 Stanley Cup Final, NCAA Tournaments and more.

    Mark Wiedmer has been a Chattanooga Times Free Press columnist since 1987. He has covered 28-straight Final Fours through 2015, two Super Bowls, six Masters, 14 Kentucky Derbies, one Olympics, two U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships.
