NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police say a worker suffered a broken nose and other injuries when a man attacked her outside the Tennessee Capitol.

An arrest affidavit says the woman was arriving at work at the Capitol early Thursday when 30-year-old Anthony Wilson approached, saying he was going to kill her.

The affidavit says Wilson began punching her face, mounted her and continued swinging, then tried to hit her in the head with the base of a 45-pound portable metal sign.

It says it took multiple officers to arrest Wilson, who walked away when police said he was under arrest and took a fighting stance against them.

He's charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest and resisting arrest.

Police say Wilson's previous arrests starting in 2015 include trespassing, drug possession, theft, burglary and public intoxication.
