‘It’s hot where you’re going:’ Ohio church scolds thieves who stole air conditioner unit

AKRON, Ohio — The pastor at an Ohio church has a message for the thieves who stole its congregation's air conditioner: “Whoever stole our A C Unit: Keep it. It’s hot where you’re going."

Thieves removed a $3,500 air conditioner from Akron Alliance Fellowship Church about three weeks ago, WJW reported.

"They cut the wires nicely. They cut the tubing with a tubing cutter. They had to know what they were doing. It had to be at least two because one person would not have been able to pick it up," pastor Gus Brown told WJW.

Akron church has a message for air conditioner thieves, but Pastor Gus Brown shares the truth and that there is room for reconciliation.

Police are investigating the theft.

Brown does hopes whoever stole the unit becomes penitent.

"Our desire is to even see (them) at our church one day," Brown told WJW.

The church is planning to hold an offering Sunday to collect money for a new air conditioner.
