Martin was pronounced dead at an area hospital, Newton County sheriff’s Deputy Michael Gregg said. His boss, who was not identified, is at an Atlanta hospital being treated for her wounds.
“He was just a good kid,” Martin’s father, Roddrick Foster, told WSB.
Martin was an honor student at Alcovy High School who took the job at Zaxby’s to save enough money to buy his own car, WSB reported. Foster said his son was excited about getting into the DECA career club at his high school, and he had recently returned from a retreat. He had dreams of becoming a pilot.
Foster believes his son was not the intended target of the gunfire.
