A veterinarian who helps pets of the Madison, Wisconsin, homeless population is expanding.
Wisconsin Companion Animal Resources, Education and Social Services combines vet services for animals and social services for the people who own them, The Washington State Journal reported.
Last year, they worked out of a cramped location, set up in a Quonset hut, but now the office for WisCARES has expanded into a space that is four times bigger than its former business. Now workers are able to help out more people and pets in need.
Now the veterinarians are able to add reduced-cost surgery and dental care for pets.
The clinic also has basic pet supplies and a pet food pantry for clients.
