The Whitney Houston hologram tour is officially a go.
Rolling Stone reported that the concerts, titled "An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour," will start Jan. 23, 2020 in Mexico, ending April 3 in Minsk, Belarus.
Originally announced in May, the tour will feature a live band and backup singers as a digital version of the late Grammy-winning vocalist belts her hits, including "I Will Always Love You," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" and "The Greatest Love of All."
Pat Houston,Whitney Houston's former manager and president and CEO of her estate, said the hologram was a priority in a New York Times interview earlier this year.
"A hologram show is all about the imagination and creating a 'wow factor' that extends to an incredible experience to enjoy for years to come," Pat Houston said in a statement, according to Billboard. "Whitney is not with us but her music will live with us forever."
The singer's estate partnered with BASE Hologram for the project. The company unveiled the first rendering of the Whitney Houston hologram, which showed the musician in a gold jacket, white collared blouse, blue jeans and curly, light brown hair.
"While 'An Evening With Whitney' will include all of her iconic hits, it's not a throw-back show," BASE Hologram Chairman and CEO Brian Becker said in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. "This isn't a journey through time, but more of a celebration of her best work. The main goal in these types of shows is to preserve the legacy of one-of-a-kind musicians and using their actual master recordings, give fans the chance to see them perform — many for the first time."
