DUNBAR, W. Va. — A reporter in West Virginia was unexpectedly part of the story she was covering when an SUV smashed into her during her live shot.
She quickly assured viewers and anchor Tim Irr that she was OK.
“Oh, my god! I just got hit by a car, but I’m OK. I just got hit by a car, but I’m OK Tim,” Yorgey said.
After making sure the driver was OK, Yorgey fixed her camera and continued with the water main story.
“But again, Tim, we’ll get back to the report, right? We’re on Roxalana Hills Drive in Dunbar. This is where the water main break is,” Yorgey said in the video.
This was not the first time a vehicle had hit Yorgey, Huffington Post reported. She told Irr that she had been in a similar situation in college.
She did go to a hospital to be checked out.
Yorgey said this is her last week at WSAZ. She had announced last week that she was leaving the television station for another opportunity.
