WICHITA, Kan. — A Kansas teen won the $25,000 top prize on a lottery scratch-off ticket on her first time playing, just four days after her 18th birthday, officials said.
“I bought the Cash Cow ticket because I like cows and thought it was cute,” Sloan Stanley said. “I was in shock that the first ticket I ever bought ended up winning $25,000!”
She told her father first, who was shocked.
“My family is all super-excited and happy for me, and they still can’t believe it,” she said.
She plans to use the winnings to help pay for college. She plans to start studying elementary education later this year at Fort Hays State University.
“I hope this will help me graduate without debt,” Stanley said.
