15-year-old boy charged in Memphis murder, officials say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Earlier today the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task arrested a 15-year-old boy on charges of First-Degree Murder for a shooting that happened earlier this month in Memphis.

According to officials, Nyisir Jones was shot to death in the 6000 block of Whisper Valley on June 10.

Two others were also shot and critically wounded in the 4100 block of Kirby Parkway.

One June 25, a warrant was issued for the teenager’s arrest, according to officials.

The U.S. Marshal’s service does not release the names of juveniles.

The teenager was found in a motel room near the intersection of Getwell Road and American Way.

He was taken into custody without incident, according to officials.

In addition to the murder charge, the boy had warrants for two counts of First-Degree Murder and Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
