Lepanto, Ark. — Malik and Marcus Monk have come a long way from where they started with each of the brothers making it to professional sports highest platforms.
Mailk Monk was drafted in 2017 with the 11th overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and his brother Marcus was taken in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.
The brothers from Lepanto, Arkansas, however, have never forgotten their Mid-South roots.
For the fourth year in a row, the Monk brothers provided turkeys to Arkansas residents.
At the First Baptist Missionary Church in Lepanto, over 300 Thanksgiving packages were handed out to people from cities like Lepanto, Tyronza, West Memphis, Osceola, Marked Tree and Jonesboro.
Families had boxes of turkeys, stuffing, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauces, cornbread mix, and mashed potatoes delivered right to their car.
