Daughter charged in assault, robbery of father, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police have arrested a woman for assaulting and robbing her father.

According to an affidavit, on June 22, Derek Rawlings, the victim, told police his daughter, Ebronah Rawlings, entered his home with a key.

A man was with her.

The victim and the man became involved in a physical altercation.

The victim was pushed into a bathtub.

His daughter and the man attempted to hold his head underwater, according to the affidavit.

The man struck the victim in the back with a metal shower curtain rod.

When the victim freed himself, the man produced a handgun and demanded money.

The victim’s daughter took $300 from his pockets, and the man snatched an iPhone from his hand before leaving.

The victim later found his wallet had been taken, as well as 40 Xanax pills, according to the affidavit.

Ebronah Rawlings was arrested June 30 and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
