MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have arrested a driver involved in a crash that killed a young girl yesterday.
Initial reports indicated the child that died was a young boy.
That information was incorrect.
The incident happened at I-240 and I-55 S.

Herandus Washington, 26, was traveling westbound on I-240 in a white 2016 International 440.
Washington made an improper lane change from the left to right lane, striking a 2006 Toyota 4Runner, according to an affidavit.
Washington’s vehicle pushed the 4Runner into a Nissan Maxima that had slowed to get onto the I-55 ramp.
The force and impact of the accident killed Collins Leach, 5, a rear passenger in the 4Runner, according to the affidavit.
Two other people in the 4Runner were injured and taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
Witnesses said they saw Washington driving in a reckless manner, according to the affidavit.

Herandus Washington 26, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide, Reckless Driving, and Improper Lane Change.

He was arrested and taken to 201 Poplar.
He has been charged with Reckless Driving, Improper Lane Changing and Vehicular Homicide.
