Man arrested for stabbing, blinding ex-girlfriend, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police have arrested a man for the violent stabbing of his ex-girlfriend.

The stabbing happened April 25 in the 900 block of Gaiters Park, according to an affidavit.

The victim told police she was stabbed in the face and head by her ex-boyfriend, Lacarlos Spearman.

According to the affidavit, the victim tried to stop a fight between Spearman and his brother.

Spearman punched the victim in the eye and stabbed her with a knife in the back of the head.

Spearman also stabbed the victim over her left eye.

When the victim ran, Spearman tackled her and attempted to stab her again, according to the affidavit.

The victim received lacerations to her hands from blocking the knife.

The victim’s injuries resulted in a broken orbital bone and blindness in her eye.

Spearman fled.

He has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
