MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested during a birthday party gathering April 4, according to Memphis police.
The incident happened at 639 Mississippi Boulevard, according to an affidavit.
Officers were responding to a call about several shots being fired at the intersection of Mississippi Boulevard and Georgia Avenue.
Officers told the crowd to disperse in light of social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The crowd refused, according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit. Jeremial Lee, 28, became upset when he was asked to leave and began making threats toward an officer.
Officers located a loaded gun in Lee’s waistband. Lee did not have a gun permit.
Officers found a baggie with a substance that appeared to be marijuana in Lee’s front right pocket, according to the affidavit.
Lee was charged with Violation of Emergency Management Powers of Governor, Violation of Handgun Carry Permit Law, Disorderly Conduct and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
