MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Family and friends remembered the life of a pregnant woman shot and killed in the parking lot of a Cordova Walgreens.
Keierra McNeil was just 32 years old, and she six months pregnant.
At the same place where she lost her life, dozens of family and friends are saying goodbye to McNeil.
“I hope he rot in hell because he done killed my daughter,” said Antiochus McNeil.
Mcneil’s father said he’s still processing what happened. He said Keierra was one of his six kids.
“When she was first born she was premature baby and me and her mom, and she made it through that and man successful, and then for someone to take her life like that, it hurt me, it hurt me,” he said.
Police say Kevin McKinney, McNeil’s estranged baby’s father, is accused of shooting and killing the 32-year-old and her unborn child, Blu.
Mcneil said the arrest is giving him the closure he needs before his daughter’s funeral and as the rain cleared, another sign appeared naturally – a rainbow over the Walgreens parking lot.
“Mane what, that’s my baby girl, that’s my baby girl,” said McNeil.
McNeil’s funeral is Saturday at First Baptist Barlett.
Kevin McKinney is charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Court records show McKinney was meeting McNeil to discuss co-parenting, but a witness say he wasn’t happy about the pregnancy.
The records also indicate another eyewitness says he saw McKinney jump out of some bushes behind McNeil’s car and opened fire.
