MATA officials announce fourth employee case of COVID-19

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Area Transit Authority today announced a fourth case of COVID-19 among one of its employees.

According to a press release, the employee is a bus operator who last worked on April 20.

MATA was notified of positive test results yesterday.

The company notified other employees, Shelby County health officials and the public this morning.

The bus operator was given personal protective equipment, according to the press release.

The company has performed sanitizing and deep cleaning procedures.
