MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Botanic Garden will reopen today the public today, beginning at 9 a.m., according to a press release.
“We are welcoming the public back on our 96 acres," said Mary Helen Butler, Memphis Botanical Gardens. "Our Gardners have been working hard all of these months to maintain and planting that are summer colors.”
During the month of May, the Garden will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We’ve got some of our high touch areas blocked off," Butler said. "I think it’s a good time to explore the rest of the place. We’ve got a garden growing with cotton and vegetables. Our butterfly garden is full of life.”
Only outdoor spaces will be open for now, according to the press release.
The Children’s Garden and other high-touch areas will remain closed.
There will be only one set of bathrooms open, according to the press release.
“We are hoping people purchase their tickets online so all you have to do is show your ticket and move on through the gate," Butler said. "We do have a way people can use their credit card. We are hoping people buy ahead of time.”
The Nursery at the Garden is available for online purchases only.
