Memphis VA hospital cancels COVID-19 vaccine appointments for Friday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — All COVID-19 vaccinations scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19 at the Memphis VA Medical Center are postponed due to continuing inclement weather.

Veterans with scheduled appointments for Friday will be contacted and rescheduled, according to a release from the VA.

This is for the safety of both veterans and staff.

The second dose of the Pfizer vaccine should be given as close to 21 days after the initial dose as possible.

However, if it cannot be given within 21 days and a delay is unavoidable, it can be given up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose.

Veterans who have to reschedule will be given an appointment within that timeframe.
