Ja is a baby giraffe at the Memphis Zoo and the seventh teammate of the Memphis heard.

His name is obviously a nod to Memphis Grizzlies sensation and NBA 2019-20 Rookie of the Year Ja Morant.

But, the addition is exciting for more than just visitors to the zoo.

The addition of Ja is also the first time that his sister, Ally, will meet a baby.

However, don’t expect to get much playing time with Ja anytime soon.

While he will be on exhibit, the zoo said that most of his time will be spent resting and walking to and from the barn.

According to the Memphis Zoo, Ja’s birth is part of its Species Survival Plan which manages the breeding of species to maintain a healthy and self-sustaining population that is both genetically diverse and demographically stable.

Though he’s a baby now, Ja Raffe is expected to reach between 14 and 18 feet tall, begging the question: Who would you take in a game of one-on-one, Ja Morant or Ja Raffe?
