JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi’s tax-free holiday weekend will be held beginning July 31 at 12:01 a.m. through midnight on August 1, according to a press release.
Sales tax will not be due on the sale of clothing, footwear or school supplies if the price of a single item is less than $100.
The holiday is statewide and does not apply to any items not defined as clothing or footwear.
Items ordered by telephone, mail or the Internet are also eligible, according to the press release.

In Arkansas, the tax-free weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. August 1 and ends at 11:59 p.m. August 2.
School supplies, art supplies, instructional materials and clothing will be eligible for the tax-free holiday, according to a press release.
All retailers in Arkansas are required to participate and may not charge tax on items that are legally tax-exempt during the holiday weekend.
