MPD: Two dead in overnight double shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people are dead after a double shooting this morning in Memphis.

Memphis Police responded to a shooting call about 1:15 a.m. Monday in the area of Peres Ave. and Fairfax St.

Officers found a man, 32, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Memphis Fire took the victim to Regional One in critical condition where he later died, according to police.

Another victim, a man, 32, drove themselves from the scene on Peres Ave. and Fairfax St. to the fire station on Chelsea. He crashed into the bay door of the fire station, an MPD spokesperson said.

Firefighters were not harmed.

The second victim was taken to Regional One in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, officials said.

The initial investigation revealed that the victims were at the dead-end of Peres Ave. when shots rang out.

The suspect and victims may be known to one another.

The suspect has not been arrested.
