MPD releases new information after shooting victim found at Mt. Moriah gas station

Memphis, Tenn. — UPDATE 9/13/2020:

The man who MPD thought was shot at a Mount Moriah gas station was actually shot outside of a Hickory Hill club.

Officer responded to the 6500 block of Mt. Moriah for a shooting.

A man was found critically shot and taken to Regional One, police said.

The victim told police he was involved in a verbal altercation with his ex-girlfriend inside of a club in the 6600 block of Winchester Rd.

He was in his car about to leave when gunshots started to ring out and he was struck. He didn’t know who shot him, police said. He thinks it was the ex-girlfriend.

Officers also spoke to witnesses that saw the victim’s car get struck by bullets but did not see who was shooting, police said.

The victim drove himself to the BP gas station on Mt. Moriah, according to police.

After the victim told police where he had been shot, officers responded that location and found a crime scene.


One man is in the hospital after being critically injured at a BP gas station on Mount Moriah Road, according to the Memphis Police Department.

MPD says they responded to a shooting at the location, finding one man shot.

That man was rushed to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

No suspect information was immediately available.
