Police searching for suspect in Memphis bank robbery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Memphis bank on Monday.

The robbery happened at Independent Bank on S. Main Street around 2:16 p.m.

The suspect, identified as Robert M. Durham, entered the bank and gave the teller a note advising he had a gun and demanding money.

Durham got away with an undetermined amount of money, according to police.

He fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

Durham, 41, has light brown hair and is 5′7″ to 5′8.”

He has a skinny build and was wearing a face mask, black t-shirt, khaki short and black tennis shoes.

He has several tattoos on both arms, handles, knuckles and both legs, according to police.

This is an ongoing investigation.
