Second day of early voting underway in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A second day of early voting begins Thursday across Shelby County.

All polling locations open at 9 a.m., except for the Shelby County Election Commission, which opens at 8 a.m.

Saturday, all locations open at 8 a.m.

Early voting will run through Oct. 29.

According to the Shelby County Election Commission, early voting can be done at any precinct.

There are 26 precincts across the county.

Voters must bring a photo ID, according to the Commission.

Safety protocols are in place to keep voters safe at the polls.

Face masks are recommended and social distancing will be enforced, according to the Commission.

Some waited hours to cast their ballot.

Shelby County Election Commission Administrator Linda Phillips said the lines will start to drop off as early voting continues.
