BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. — An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Bedford County Deputy on a rape charge.
In February, TBI agents began investigating allegations that a woman was sexually assaulted at a party at a home in Bedford County last October, according to a press release.
During the investigation, agents gained information that named Joseph Guthrie, a Deputy with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, as the man responsible for assaulting the woman.
On June 22, Guthrie, 31, was indicted on one count of Aggravated Rape, according to the press release.
Guthrie was arrested and booked into the Bedford County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
