Memphis, Tenn. — Two men were taken into custody on Christmas Eve after opening fire near a Memphis Walmart just three days before Christmas, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Police said Jesus Cintron-Rodrigeuz and Cortez Parker teamed up to kill Rolando Machado. A woman was also seriously injured in the shooting.
The shooting happened outside of Hooters, near Walmart on Winchester Road around 6 p.m. on December 22.
According to an affidavit, Cortez Parker admitting to giving his gun to Cintron-Rodriguez. Parker said Clinton-Rodriguez used it to kill Machado for stealing his car.
Two days later, police received tip from a Walmart employee that led them to a third suspect.
That man gave them Cintron-Rodriguez’s address, where both he and Parker were detained and taken in for questioning, police said.
Cintron-Rodriguez is charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder.
Parker is charged with Facilitation of First Degree Murder.
